Albury-Wodonga is becoming home to one of Australia's most compelling mental health initiatives, and we need your help to make it happen.
The Murray River Centre will be a fully integrated, 41,500 m² precinct offering trauma-focused clinical care, supported family safety accommodation, leading-edge therapies, and national workforce rejuvenation through retreat and experiential training. It is designed from the ground up as a scalable model for regional Australia.
Veterans. Victim-survivors of family violence. Young people with eating disorders. Families in crisis. These are our neighbours. And until now, their reach for healing and support has been met only with scarcity.
A landmark pledge will allow us to acquire the old Clyde Cameron College/Murray Valley Private Hospital in Wodonga. Now, we’re inviting community members and philanthropists to join a founding group that will open the Clinical Wing by the end of 2027.
The Impact
· Integrative care that focuses on healing, not merely symptom management
· Permanent jobs created in our region, including a lived and living experience team.
· Increased access to a mental health workforce on the leading edge of therapeutic innovation
· Thousands of patients served annually from across regional NSW and Victoria
· A scalable national model that will be Albury-Wodonga’s pride. To remind Australia that our community can show the way.
Chaired by the former Governor-General, Gen David Hurley AC CVO DSC, the Murray River Foundation board brings together leading psychiatrists, policy experts, and community advocates passionate about improving service and access in our region.
Will you join us?
We believe every donation is a generous one. Thank you for supporting our work.
If you would like to discuss the opportunity to support the Centre further, please email hello@murrayriverfoundation.org
